IKEA™ Kitchen Remodel

The design concept for the remodel of this 1962 mid-century ranch was to create an IKEA kitchen that was modern and updated, but still period appropriate. The green is very close to the original paint color of the kitchen. Although this was a complete gut-reno, some of the original kitchen's details were recreated to retain its character, like the salvaged scalloped wood trim over the window and the thin hardwood framing around the edge of the tiles. Fastcap Fastedge teak veneer tape was used to cover the white interior edges of the cabinets, which really ties things together by hiding the white lines of the IKEA cabinets that were visible around the doors and drawers. The refrigerator side panels, wine rack, microwave unit and floating shelves were all made by the client using matching Treefrog veneer.
